E L James revisits the world of Fifty Shades with a deeper and darker take on the love story that has enthralled millions of readers around the globe.

Their scorching, sensual affair ended in heartbreak and recrimination, but Christian Grey cannot get Anastasia Steele out of his mind, or his blood. Determined to win her back, he tries to suppress his darkest desires and his need for complete control, and to love Ana on her own terms.

But the horrors of his childhood still haunt him, and Ana’s scheming boss, Jack Hyde, clearly wants her for himself. Can Christian’s confidant and therapist, Dr. Flynn, help him face down his demons? Or will the possessiveness of Elena, his seducer, and the deranged devotion of Leila, his former submissive, drag Christian down into the past?
And if Christian does win Ana back, can a man so dark and damaged ever hope to keep her?

Cover Review:

The cover is the usual gray stuff. Not a fan of it, that's for sure.

Book Review:

I didn't read the first book in this series (The Christian's POV series that is) because I hadn't really enjoyed Fifty Shades Of Grey. I wouldn't have continued reading it then had I not been so curious about Christian's past. And so I read Fifty Shades Darker. I had never imagined that I'd fall in love with it.

So when Darker came out, I knew I had to read it, even if I hadn't read the first one. And I did read it. And loved it even more, if that's possible.

I didn't really know what to expect. I had thought that this book being from Christian's POV would be dark, cold, hard just like he was portrayed in the earlier books. But no. This person was so different from the one I had known. I never thought I'd use this word to describe this person, but Christian Grey in Darker was...cute. Yes, cute! On the inside he sounded just like a teenager. Hurt, confused, in love and human.

So yeah, despite everything, despite all the negative vibes about this book and series, I loved Darker. <3

I'm not sure I'll read the next book when it comes out, because Fifty Shades Darker was my favorite in the series and that's the only reason why I read Darker. Maybe I will. Maybe not.

Did you ever fall in love with such a book? A book that has a lot of negative reviews around it? Like this series and Twilight Saga (which is another one of my favorites)?

    1. I didn't read Grey. I figured it'd be more...crude? Because it was mostly Before Ana and stuff.

  4. What did you think of the trilogy? I absolutely loved it because it was a Beauty and the Beast kind of story where the girl gets to save the guy for a change. This one looks great.

    1. Finally someone on the same mind track as me! Yeah, I did love the series, and this book so much more because if you look at it from this book's POV, there's no beast at all <3

  5. I can't stand this series of books. Read the first one and thought what a load of rubbish. She is certainly making her monies worth out of one idea.

  6. You know, I kind of thought I was over the 50 Shades hype, but maybe I'll have to give these Christian perspectives a try!
